The 3-minute walkthrough that goes with your submission. Here is how to record one that works, in about 30 minutes, no editing skills required.

Screen recording with your face in a corner. That is the whole format. Judges watch it before your slot, so it does a lot of the convincing for you: they arrive already knowing what your project is and what it does.

Three decisions before you press record. None of them takes long.

  1. Any screen recorder works. Loom is free under 5 minutes and records webcam and screen in one shot. We have no affiliation with them, it just works.
  2. Record full screen. Your desktop should not be distracting in the background. If you built a mobile app, vertical is fine.
  3. Show your face. People care more about what they are looking at when they can see who built it. A corner webcam bubble is enough.

If it is taking more than 30 minutes, you are overproducing it. This is not an investor pitch and it does not need to be polished. One honest take beats a night of editing.

What to say

Three minutes is plenty if you spend them in the right order.

  1. Introduce yourself in one sentence. Then introduce the project before diving in. Judges need to know what it is and why it exists before they see how it works.
  2. Show what someone can actually do with it. Walk through a real use, live. The best demos are an invitation to go and try the thing.
  3. Talk to the person who would love this, not to everyone. One specific viewer in mind makes the whole video sharper.

The link must work without a login. Before you submit, open it in an incognito window and check it plays. A private video the judges cannot open counts as no video.
